mini surf

Neal Miyaki photos

The surf in the photo looks bigger than it did at the beach this morn. Good morning to get some coffee, chill, and read some more of that book you've been meaning to get through but haven't been able to because of all the surprise nuggets we've been getting. Good to see people out in the water today on 9' + boards.

Friday.

Old Mutron action. Happy Jerry. Whatever happened to Travis Bean? Aluminum necks. Kramer.

A few fun ones this morning where the south works best here. Loser Cruiser worker for some long rides. Love the dryhair paddle.

E's Allstar Band...count me in.

Whenever I get to the beach and it looks to small or crappy, I always remember what the waves are like on the east coast or gulf coast, and I think how stoked those guys would be to have our little crappy days. Gotta say just paddling about is a really pleasant way to spend the morning.

July 3, Oceanside.

Low 90s inland, low 80s at the beach, low 70s in the water, low surf, but at least solid knee high when trimming in the aqua-green soft shoulders...this after nursing a bottom turn off the spilling thigh to hip high sets.

Saw dolphins, rode small surf, didn't need a wetsuit, wore lots of sunblock, and then sat on a beach blanket to dry off while slurping down a beer or three...who would have thought such a thing existed as this?

Once again, I am reminded how good it is to visit friends.
