Wedges
Windy, swell-filled weekend.
Chilled with my mom and did a bunch of coastal hikes.
Pelicans, sea-lions, ticks, poison oak, sunshine, wind.
Lizards, lady-bugs, eroding dunes, eucalyptus.
Campground kids yelling.
California coastal sweetness.
Found a little pocket-beach yesterday morning.
Head-high wedges every 5 or 10 minutes.
Wind-whipped but peeling.
One guy flowing smooth and killing it softly.. or some such.
Carving 360's.
Stylish, full-rail hacks, barrels.
Caught a few ramps myself.
Pumping down the line.
Clicked a turn or two.
Just a slight-bit behind the rhythm of the wave.
My reactions and direction-changes need to be quicker and more fluid to best maximize shred-potential.
As it stands i'm a stinkbugging kook.
Maybe in a few more years it will all start aligning?
Delfina, India Clay Oven, Pauline's, Pizzetta, Feel Real Cafe, Judalicious, Emmy's Spaghetti Shack, Little Star, Blue Plate, L'Avenida.
Jim Shaw sent a few photos from down south. I guess Jim graduated from SI way back when and now has 200 acres down in Centro. Go Jim!!

One of the best shots of female surfing i've ever seen. The girl has style.

Sweet pics! Looks like Mexico but I won't say where. No, no, no. Besides, its likely not.
I would pay a lot of money to have the opportunity to surf that wave right now. What a sweet wave.
Need surf.
Posted by: Kaisernice e you just 'named' 3 of my favorite restaurants.
sat fun at ob early, nice long ones on the outside. lots of heads in the water but well spread. sunday outside of town was high wave count but few long rides at a fun but increasingly choppy and closeout-y spot. beautiful weekend, good times.
Posted by: vonsgot in the water a couple times this weekend for the first time since april or so. boy do i still suck, but it felt great to get back at it. awesome weather, good grub, fun vibe. niceness!
d, thanks for dragging me out.
Posted by: king james version...it was hardly a "drag", king james! More like the "I'll see ya out there" that did the trick. Hope the rest of your Saturday was as delicious as our Saturday dinner. (wink, wink - nod, nod)
Peace & surf.
Posted by: still newNot hypin' just talkin'....it was very fun and powerful down here this afternoon at some spot. Tomorrow morn it could be ON. Nothing better than paddling out before light and snagging a few and being stoked before you see another soul.
Surf filled weekend also. Great pics.

Posted by: antmannice words, I worked all weekend but felt good hearing your description of northcoast beauty!
Those pictures are beautiful but like Kaisers and Sactomex's pictures just end up causing frustration. It's surf porn! I need the real thing ( waves that is!)
ASP Contest in Mexico is ON!
